Granite Falls - Robinar Hoyle Mays, 80, of Rt 3 Granite Falls, died on Monday afternoon in a Hickory Hospital. She had been in ill health for some time.

Born Dec. 13, 1898, she was a daughter of the late Pinkney and Caroline Smith Hoyle. Her husband, Alfred Burton Mays died July 1, 1976.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Mackie-High Funeral Home in Granite Falls. The Rev. Gordon Pope conducted the services. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Marie) Reid of Granite Falls, Mrs. Kenneth (Wilma) Hollar of Carolina Beach, Mrs. A.D. (Myrtle) Kaylor of Connelley Springs and Mrs. Tommy (Pearl) Truesdale of Hickory; Three sons, Alfred P. Mays and Rhondle H. Mays of Hickory and Leonard Mays of Granite Falls; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, James Hoyle of Granite Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Lou Duncan of Granite Falls.
