Charles lived with his grandparents, Columbus Franklin Mays and Anna Rebecca Payne and used the Mays name all his life. Buried at Miller's & St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Catawba Co, NC. Charles was in the US Marine Corps WWII.
